Akari Care is an award-winning provider of residential and nursing care for older people. They are seeking an enthusiastic and caring Activities Coordinator to create a vibrant and engaging environment for their residents. The role involves planning and delivering a variety of activities to cater for all tastes and abilities, while promoting diversity and inclusion. The successful candidate will work closely with the Home Manager and wider team to enrich the lives of the residents.
Main duties of the job
The Activities Coordinator will be responsible for helping and engaging residents to socialise within the home, providing a variety of activities that cater for all tastes, abilities, and cultures. They will plan and initiate rolling/individual programmes, encouraging residents to maintain existing hobbies and try new activities. The role also involves collaborating with colleagues, relatives, and friends to enable additional stimulation and socialisation. The Activities Coordinator will assist with innovative fundraising initiatives and budgeting to support the residents' activities. They will create a supportive, caring, and kind environment where residents are valued, respected, and able to lead full lives.
