Job summary

Primary Care Knowsley we are looking for a passionate, determined, and resilient individual to join our growing team as a Governance & Quality Officer, in the fast-paced environment of primary care.

The role will be working closely with and reporting to the Associate Lead of Governance and Quality for Primary Care Knowsley.

The role is to develop and promote the delivery of patient-centred care within primary care. We aim to achieve this a continuation in delivery of the high standards in health and safety management, compliance with Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), supporting a resilient staff team, achieving contractual compliance and exceeding expectations through innovation.

Main duties of the job

The main responsibilities are the role will require the individual to communicate effectively at all levels and produce concise written documentation. To promote good practice for Governance and Quality, providing advice and guidance on governance issues and standards to all staff and raise awareness of governance issues throughout Primary Care Knowsley.

Job description

Job responsibilities

- Work to Information Governance requirements

- Support and monitor the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) ensuring there is an evidence base for audit purposes by collating evidence for each CQC standard

- To support the annual submission of NHS England contractual requirements

- To ensure appropriate and timely action, through appropriate escalation channels, where compliance issues are flagged

- Promote a data-driven culture across the organisation, working with the business stakeholders to educate on the importance of governance and compliance

- Support with thematic analysis review(s) of key data driven from systems utilised within the organisation

- Collating and adding actions from audits, ensuring a level of accountability is assigned

- Collating and adding actions from all meetings across Primary Care Knowsley, and escalating where necessary, through the appropriate escalation channels

- Seeking evidence of closure of actions and logging any effectiveness checks on the system

- Undertake audits on applicable areas of the Quality Management System

- Production of Reports on Quality Assurance

- To maintain accurate record keeping / documentation and to maintain confidential patient information as per protocols

- Provide on-site support whilst carrying out audits

- To participate in training identified as necessary to carry out the functions of the post

- Carrying out any other duties as may reasonably be required

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE Maths, English - having received a C/7 or equivalent
  • Good level of written and spoken English
  • Solid attention to detail and organisation skills
  • Be able to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Be self-motivated and a self-starter
  • Ability to able to work in a team and individually - with a track record of time management
  • Experience of providing administration support to meetings including minute taking.
  • Have solid good computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office including Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Experience of generating audits to ensure contractual compliance .
  • Experience in carrying out audits.

Desirable

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent).
  • Good understanding of governance, particularly within primary care.
  • Experience of developing and completing audits.
  • Have an understanding of health and safety.
  • Experience in quality assurance and formatting.
  • Knowledge linked to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements including the Key Lines of Enquiry.
  • Experience of reviewing documentation in-line with governmental and regulatory body changes.
