Job summary

Are you looking to take your first step into Laboratory Operations?

Have you already got experience as a manager within a laboratory environment and want to develop these skills?

Are you a dynamic individual who can adapt to changes in priorities?

If the answer to those questions is yes, then we'd love to hear from you!

We are looking for another team member to help us manage the day to day operations of Guys Genetics service and to help us to transform how we work in the future. You'll be doing this by providing high level operational support to the Genomics Service Delivery Managers.

This will be perfect for you as a proactive, self-starter who values great communication and team working.

If you love the buzz of London and the social side of working in an office environment but also enjoy some work from home, this role would be a great fit. This is a hybrid post which will require a mix of on site and remote working, based around the needs of the service.

This would ideally be a full-time position, but we would be open to hearing from candidates who may wish to work at a reduced full time equivalent.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with the Genomics Rare Disease and Cancer SDM to manage the needs of a team of over 200 specialists.

The Synnovis Genetics Laboratory at Guy's is the designated hub laboratory for the SEGLH Network led by Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT). This network of laboratory providers is responsible for delivering genomic testing to a population of 8.6 million across South London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

We're looking for someone with experience in areas such as facilities management, IT management, recruitment, monitoring and resolving errors, working with clinical teams, monitoring performance data, tracking trends, managing patient records, working with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and experience managing a team.

About us

You will have a suite of learning opportunities available through The Synnovis Way Development programme, the Scientific Learning and Development Fund and the Synnovis Academy through which you can receive funding / support for advanced qualifications.

Through our Innovation Accelerator Fund, you can apply for finance to get that new innovative scientific project off the ground, and participate with the wider scientific community through symposiums, conferences and other peer group meetings.
