Job summary

NEMS have an exciting opportunity for a Driver/ Doctor Assistant to join our Operations Team!

The contract we have available is for an average of 16 hours per week.

This role would suit anyone that is looking for something more than just a driver role. As part of this role, you will chaperone our doctors to home visits with patients, provide patient transport on request, and ensure our vehicle fleet is ready for service by completing vehicle and equipment checks ensuring safety is paramount.

The Driver/Doctor Assistant is a key member of staff whose role is to support operational effectiveness to our out of hours service.

Shift Times

  • Day Shift: 08:00-16:00
  • Afternoon Shift: 15:00/16:00/17:00-24:00
  • Night Shift: 24:00-08:00

Shift Pattern A

  • Week 1: x1 Weekday afternoon shift
  • Week 2: x2 Weekend night shifts
  • Week 3: x1 Weekday afternoon shift
  • Week 4: x2 Weekday night shifts, x2 Weekend afternoon shifts

  • Week 1: x2 Weekend afternoon shifts
  • Week 2: x1 weekday afternoon shift
  • Week 3: x1 Weekend afternoon shift, x1 Weekend night shift
  • Week 4: x2 Weekend day shifts

Shift Pattern C

  • Week 1: x2 weekend afternoon shifts
  • Week 2: x1 weekend day shift, x1 weekend afternoon shift
  • Week 3: x2 weekend night shifts
  • Week 4: x2 weekday night shifts

Main duties of the job

The main purpose of this role is to work with all Operational Staff to ensure efficient and effective:

  • Transport of GPs between NEMS Sites and home addresses
  • Provide reception duties at NEMS Sites where required
  • Undertake basic admin duties
  • Undertake daily car checks to ensure vehicles, equipment, and paperwork are ready for shift
  • Work closely with our other sites under NEMS CBS
  • Support Clinicians as required within the remit of the role
  • Purchase refreshments

Payrates

  • Base rate (e.g. day time):£11.48 p/h
  • Evenings: £12.63 p/h
  • Weekend: £13.20 p/h
  • Overnight: £15.30 p/h
  • Bank Holidays: £22.96 p/h
