Job summary

Vranch House is a flourishing, well-respected charity responsible for a school for children aged 2-19 with complex physical difficulties and a large out-patient therapy service providing Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy across DevonThe charity is jointly commissioned by the local CCG and Devon County Council and is the hub of the area neurodisability team.

We are seeking to appoint a Band 5 Nurse to join our busy, energetic and supportive Nursing Team in the school in Exeter.

The post-holder will be responsible for a clinical caseload providing nursing assessments, treatment and advice to children with a wide variety of neurological and musculoskeletal conditions within the school. the school children have a variety

Main duties of the job

The nurse will practice autonomously, be responsible and accountable for providing safe, compassionate, person centred, evidence-based nursing care that respects and maintains dignity and human rights. They will be responsible for the assessment of patient care needs and delivering care based on these assessments without direct supervision. When deemed competent within the School Nursing scope of practice they will on occasions be responsible for leading care within the school. The post holder will practice in a holistic, non-judgmental, caring, and compassionate manner that avoids assumptions, supports social inclusion, and recognises and respects individual choice and acknowledges diversity. They will work in partnership with other health and social care professionals, students and trainees and agencies, service users, their carers and families. The post holder will contribute to practice development within the School Nursing Team and work in accordance with School Policies, Procedures and Guidelines.

The post is part-time, hours to be negotiated over the week, and school term time only.
