Job summary
Vranch House is a flourishing, well-respected charity responsible for a school for children aged 2-19 with complex physical difficulties and a large out-patient therapy service providing Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy across Devon. The charity is jointly commissioned by the local CCG and Devon County Council and is the hub of the area neuro-disability team.
We have a well established music therapy service with an NMT focus. We are seeking to appoint a Band 5 or 6 music therapist to join our busy, energetic and supportive therapy team.
The post-holder will be responsible for a clinical caseload providing music therapy assessments, treatment and advice to children with a wide variety of neurological and musculoskeletal conditions within the school.
The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills, and a polite and professional manner.
Main duties of the job
The music therapist will practice autonomously, be responsible and accountable for providing music therapy support to children at Vranch House school and outpatients who are accessing our 0-5 physiotherapy service. The post holder will practice in a holistic way to evaluate and tailor the therapy interventions,. The post holder will support the Vranch House school curriculum and evidence gathering on school recording system.
They will work in partnership with other health and social care professionals, students and trainees and agencies, service users, their carers and families. The post holder will contribute to practice development within the Therapy Team and work in accordance with School Policies, Procedures and Guidelines.
The post is part-time, hours to be negotiated over the week, and school term time only.
