Hours: 37.5
Location: Required to work from different locations within Heywood,
Middleton & Rochdale (Must have a valid driving licence and access to own vehicle)
Duration: Up to 9 months Maternity Leave cover
Gynaecology Assistant: The
post holder will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who will
provide an excellent and efficient care to all patients and gynaecology service
users. The post holder will be competent in working in a fast-paced and
ever-changing environment, is dedicated to delivering an excellent patient
experience and interacts well with clinicians/professionals.
Phlebotomist: Responsible for
performing venepuncture to obtain blood samples from housebound patients onlyas the result of a direct
referral from a GP or Nurse Practitioner.
There will be an expectation
for flexibility in order to meet the needs of the organisation and its
services; you may be required from time to time to work outside of your normal
area of work/shift time.

Job responsibilities
Gynaecology Assistant - Main duties and responsibilities of the post:
- Assistance with overall day to day operation of the clinical & treatment rooms in multiple buildings ensuring overall care and safety to the patient, visitors and staff
- Support the Gynaecology Clinicians to deliver high quality patient centered care
- To understand and follow the Clinic policies and procedures
- Acknowledge limitations and seek advice / support when necessary
- Assist staff to complete related duties as directed by and under supervision of the Gynaecology Clinicians
- To work as part of the multidisciplinary team
- Prepare for and assist with the smooth running of the clinic ensuring a high standard of patient care
- Perform basic patient assessments were appropriate
- Perform blood tests were appropriate
- Assist Gynaecology Clinicians with clinic lists, including consultations, ultrasound scans, and other interventions
- Ensure customer satisfaction surveys are issued and encourage completion
Phlebotomist Main duties and responsibilities of the post:
- Ensuring that the patient is as comfortable and relaxed as possible and confirming their agreement (or carer/guardian) to the collection of a blood sample
- Collection of sample(s) of blood in accordance with training and procedures
- Ensuring samples are stored in appropriate coloured containers
- Accurate, legible labelling of all samples to confirm patient identity
- Checking patient identification against GP/Nurse request and confirming with patient or carer/guardian whenever possible
- Recording collection of blood sample on the patients referral form in accordance with GP Care Services procedure
- Ensuring that samples are dropped off at the appropriate GP Practice or Rochdale Infirmary in a timely fashion
- Reporting any anomalies to the Operations Manager promptly
- Notifying the administration team of any significant patient issues
- Liaising with and assisting members of the administrative team
Standard Maintenance
- In participation with the Service Administrator, ensure the maintenance of equipment and stock levels are up to date
- Transport stock to each location ensuring stock levels are sufficient for each clinic
- Report any clinical or environmental issues of concern and take action to rectify these where appropriate
- Ensure a working knowledge and compliance with Organisational Policies and Procedures
- Check and record fridge temperatures to maintain the cold chain were appropriate
- Check and re-stock treatment rooms regularly
- Understand the importance and adhere to infection control issues
- Keep clinical areas clean and free from clutter.
