Job summary

This full-time role is to lead in IT and digital systems for Hackney Downs PCN, providing practical support to maximise the use of existing IT systems and digital technology.

The role will encompass the implementation and maintenance of IT systems as well as IT trouble shooting and liaison with NEL IT support as necessary.

This role is expected to be an on-the-ground IT and digital support to the PCN and practices, to ensure practices optimise the resources and tools available, and support the PCN to reach digital maturity.

There will be opportunity for the candidate to be innovative and identify opportunities to develop the PCN digital systems and social media.

The role will also be expected to link with the Office of PCN Digital and Transformation Lead who will be overseeing the strategy of digital development for all 8 PCNs in City and Hackney.

Main duties of the job

Currently the PCN has a part time senior clinical administrator and the largest practice, the Nightingale Practice, also has an in-house IT lead. This role aims to support and expand on the work of these individuals and offer more direct support to the smaller practices who do not have an IT lead. It aims to add to the culture of practices working together to improve efficiencies, reduce inequalities across the network, and strengthen the practice resilience, and as a result improve patient care across our network.

About us

Hackney Downs PCN is a well-established network of 7 practices, based across 4 sites in Clapton, Hackney. The practice list sizes vary from 1800 patients up to 12000 patients. The digital development varies in practices and there is room for standardisation and improvements.

The member practices are friendly and work well together, and there is a culture of supporting each other and sharing work to create efficiencies. The PCN members meet monthly and the 7 practice managers meet weekly in between.
