Job summary

gtd healthcare is one of the largest NHS commissioned Primary and Urgent care providers in North West England. Based in Denton, Manchester, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the Governance Team as a Information Governance Manager on a part time basis.

This role presents the opportunity to be a part of an Information Governance Team and other governance functions who are committed to continuously improving, adapting and trialing new and innovative ways of working with a focus on quality improvement and learning lessons to ensure the provision of safe, high-quality care.

Under the direction of the Head of Assurance / Data Protection Officer, the Information Governance Manager will have responsibility for leading the management and development of information governance processes across the organisation, ensuring compliance with all UK data protection legislation.

The role includes line management responsibilities and will involve working closely with other staff with specific governance roles and responsibilities, e.g. complaints and incident management.

This post is part time, permanent, 22.5 hours per week, hybrid working model.

The salary for this role is Band F - G (£39,720 - £51,173 pro rata) depending on experience and accredited date protection qualification.

Interviews will be held on Monday 11th May 2026 at our head office based in Denton.

Main duties of the job

With direction and support from the Head of Assurance/Data Protection Officer, you will:

  • Support the identification and prioritisation of an information governance programme linked to organisational and national priorities.
  • Analyse data and prepare regular reports for the Information Management and Technology Committee to provide assurance relating to progress with the information governance programme and highlighting any risks identified to be considered for escalation to Board.
  • Lead the delivery of training related to information governance across the organisation.
  • Lead on the development and dissemination of policies, protocols and guidelines linked to the information governance programme.
  • Lead on the monitoring of compliance with guidance linked to the information governance programme.
  • Be a main point of contact for leadership and professional advice to staff, senior managers, the executive management team, and board on information governance.
  • Contribute to the effective integration of information governance with other quality, governance, and assurance initiatives, including incidents and complaints.
  • Support the development and maintenance of gtds central systems for coordinating and demonstrating compliance with its information governance programme.
  • Work alongside the Request for Information (RFI) Manager to ensure compliance with individual rights under UK data protection legislation.

  • Delegate tasks appropriately to the relevant Senior/Governance Officers.
  • Deputise and provide cover for other information governance team managers as appropriate to ensure the effective representation at relevant governance functions.
  • Liaise and seek support from other governance function managers, e.g. Head of Risk and Safety, Head of Patient Experience and Inclusion, as necessary.
  • Be prepared to use own initiative and act independently within own sphere of responsibility and competencies.
