Job summary

gtd healthcareare looking for a dedicated and proactive Associate Medical Director to join our medical leadership team.

As an Associate Medical Director, you will provide leadership across the primary care services and be part of a leadership team responsible for leading these services within the gtd footprint. The successful candidate will ensure that we deliver safe and effective care to your patients.

Main duties of the job

  • Support the Medical Director in delivering the requirements of the Medical Directorate. On occasions, you will be required to deputise for the Medical Director. The following is not exclusive of other reasonable duties you may be called upon to fulfil which may fall under the responsibility of the Medical Director.
  • Provide professional support to your GP Clinical Leads; to support everyone to achieve their developmental ambitions in line with the ongoing development of all Primary care services, the GPs, clinical staff, and the practice.
  • Provide clinical leadership to the team within the practices and havedirect line management responsibilities for our GP Leads, and for practice GPs/ Physician Associates, where no GP Leads are available.
  • Work closely with the Senior Clinical and Operations team to ensure the practice is safe, efficient, and effective.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • You will be the link between gtd healthcares Primary Care Services and the Medical Director as the subject matter expert on all things relating to gtd healthcares Primary Care Services.
  • You will be the lead clinical link for all our innovation developments and be responsible for the clinical safety of the practices.
  • You will be part of an Associate Medical Directors Team to ensure that safe and effective patient care is delivered across the gtd footprint.
  • You will be supported in developing your leadership and management skills.
  • You will take medical responsibility for attending relevant governance groups and participate in incident and complaints management.
  • You will support governance agenda ensuring that there is a process in place for clinical audits for gtd healthcares Primary Care Services.
  • You would be responsible for monitoring the Performance of the GP Clinical Leads and respond appropriately to clinical performance issues.
  • You would be responsible for reviewing / auditing productivity. You would support the GP Clinical Lead in performance managing any concerns with clinicians as required and requested, with outputs reflecting improvement in clinical performance.
  • You will be required to attend the monthly Leadership meeting giving feedback to the Medical Director ad hoc and at 1:1 meeting with Medical Director.
  • You would take responsibility for the Implementation of learning following incidents internally or those shared by partner organisations.
  • You would be our subject matter expert in engaging with senior clinical members of the gtd healthcares Primary Care Services around service development.
  • You would ensure gtd healthcares representation at the PCNs.
  • You would be responsible for ensuring QoF is delivered in all practices across the gtd footprint.
  • Working with the Senior Clinical and Senior Operations Team, you would ensure that all requirements for successful CQC reviews are met.
  • You would be required to be part of any recruitment initiative to ensure optimal medical staffing in all our gtd healthcares Primary Care Services ensuring that our workforce planning agenda is met for this service.
  • You will be responsible for managing of all gtd healthcares Primary Care Services GP Leads by setting goals and objectives through a Job planning process. You will be the GP Leads support in the line management of gtd healthcares Primary Care Services Doctors and relevant clinical staff. You will provide professional supervision, guidance, and support in the completion of job planning.
  • You would be the key driver and responsible person in driving forward innovation and transformation initiatives in Primary care. You would need to work with Practice managers, Clinical leads and Staff at all GP practices to ensure that they embrace radical transformation and innovation initiatives.
  • You would be part of the leadership team working alongside other AMDs and clinical Leads and non-clinical managers to explore opportunities for integration and efficiencies in our services where GP practices work alongside Urgent Care, Treatment Centres and the Clinical Hub.

Essential

  • Fully qualified GP with GMC registration.
  • Certificate of completion of training in General practice with MRCGP
  • examination or equivalent.
  • Included on the GP performers list (with no conditions preventing

  • Eligible to work in UK with UK work permit (if required).
  • Full professional indemnity.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.

  • UK driving license.
