gtd healthcare is one of the largest NHS commissioned Primary and Urgent care providers in North West England. Based in Denton, Manchester, we have a an excellent opportunity for a Payroll Assistant to join our growing payroll team.
The Payroll Assistant will support the Payroll Officer and wider Payroll & Pensions team in the effective administration of and delivery of the payroll function across the organisation.
The ideal candidate will need to have good communication skills, experience of working as part of a team and the ability to deal with all levels of the organisation. This will include the ability to work flexibly to strict deadlines and to be able to prioritise your own workload accordingly.

Main duties of the job
- Support the effective administration of the payroll function across the organisation.
- Maintain the payroll system through the accurate and timely interpretations and input of information from source documents.
- Dealing with high volume input, working to tight deadlines and undertake new starter and leaver processes.
- Communicate with Managers, and colleagues in the Workforce Planning,People Services and Recruitment teams to ensure the accurate and timely payment of salaries for all employees and independent contractors.
- Process claims for overtime and expenses within delegated authority limits, support processing of absence data and checking authorisation and accuracy of data.
- Assisting with controls to ensure payments have been paid correctly and dealing promptly with any discrepancies to ensure the payment deadlines are met.
- Administer payroll data ensuring it is kept up to date for all staff and undertake monthly reconciliations of contributions and payments for all staff and independent contractors.
