Job summary
Eastwood Community Endoscopy Centre are recruiting into this exciting new role to support our current Sisters/Charge Nurses. Our unit are currently working towards JAG accreditation. The post holder will work alongside the Lead Nurse, Sisters and our team of experienced endoscopy nurses to assist with ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the unit and maintaining a high standard of patient care at all times through excellent governance and evidence based practice, within our busy community endoscopy unit.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will require a sound knowledge and experience of endoscopy. They will have responsibility for ensuring adequate skill mix within the unit at all times. They will act as a positive role model to colleagues, demonstrating a high standard of evidence-based practice. They must have an up to date knowledge of JAG and BSG guidelines governing endoscopy. They will be required to evaluate clinical effectiveness by partaking in and initiating audits, as well as maintaining agreed standards of patient care through regular reviewing and updating of existing policies. They will be expected to support the senior leadership team in providing a positive, supportive, caring and professional environment.

Qualifications
Essential
- 3 years experience in Acute Hospital Setting.
- 2 years experience in Endoscopy.
- GCSE grade A-C in English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Good IT skills, working knowledge to confidently use Excel, MS Word and NHS mail.
Desirable
- Knowledge of endoscopy reporting systems and Systmone.
- Competency in Cannulation and administration of Intravenous Medication.
- Jets Workforce ENDO1, ENDO3.
- Current ILS, safeguarding, DoLs, Infection Control mandatory training certificates
Experience
Essential

- Experience of dealing with vulnerable patients in Endoscopy.
- Working knowledge of decontamination processes.
