Job summary
This is the perfect opportunity to be part of a diverse team providing assessment, diagnostics, diagnosis, treatment, advice, and referrals.
As a UTC HCA you will be considered a key person in day-to-day clinical tasks within the department, without you the UTC would not function efficiently.
You will be working as part of a team within your sphere of competency in adiverse, multi-skilled teamthat includes GPs, Advanced Practitioners, Physician Associates, Paediatric ANPs, Emergency Practitioners and Live Well Coaches.
On each shift you will be expected to work with the shift lead. Together you will perform ECGs, Venepuncture and Cannulation, Urinalysis, Plaster of Paris, Dressings, department audits and a range of other tasks.
With links to both VTS and Greenwich University, you will have access to a range of CPD courses and opportunities to progress your career. We work closely with the ICS, ICB, Local Trust and various other local shareholders to provide opportunities tolearn, innovate and contribute new ideas.
It will also be a requirement to support the services Out of Hours Home Visiting service. This will require you to have a valid driving license in order to drive our company Out of Hours Service cars with the treating clinician to the patients home.
Main duties of the job

We are looking forfull and part timeHCAs on apermanent salaried basis.The service is 365 days per year, 7 days a week meaning shifts are available 24/7.
Your duties will include:
- To work with shift leadership
- Effectively carry out clinical tasks, providing safe and efficient care.
- To perform diagnostics including ECGs, bloods, and urinalysis.
- To perform clinical skills including Plaster of Paris and Dressing application.
- To provide reassurance to patients, families, and carers.
- Follow diagnostic pathways.
- Effective communication with a range of inter-professional teams.
- Contribute to specific care guidelines and standards supporting the care of patients across the health economy.
- To implement Health and Safety and Risk Management appropriate to area of work
- To deliver aspects of the Clinical Governance Agenda, following the direction of the Clinical Leadership.
- Contribute to and manage various elements of auditing in the UTC.
- Provide immediate life support.
