As a UTC Streaming Clinician, you will be considered a key person in day-to-day clinical leadership and expertise within the department.

You will be working as part of a team within your sphere of competency in adiverse, multi-skilled teamthat includes GPs, Advanced Practitioners, Physician Associates, Paediatric ANPs, Emergency Practitioners and Live Well Coaches.

On each shift you will be expected to act as a shift leader, coordinate the working team, stream patients from the front door and work collaboratively with a wide range of local specialists.

With links to both VTS and Greenwich University, you will have access to a range of CPD courses including Advanced and Emergency Practitioner courses. We work closely with the ICS, ICB, Local Trust and various other local shareholders to provide opportunities tolearn, innovate and contribute new ideas.

Main duties of the job

Principal duties and responsibilities

- To monitor and manage the UTC patient case list.

- Effectively delegate tasks to staff on shift, providing safe and efficient care.

- Perform streaming safely and efficiently, assigning patients to the correct department and under the correct priority level.

- Provide a safe ED/UTC front door for patients and staff.

- To perform diagnostics including ECGs, bloods, and urinalysis.

- To provide reassurance to patients, families, and carers.

- Follow diagnostic and referral pathways.

- Effective communication with a range of inter-professional teams for patient referrals.

- Contribute to specific care guidelines and standards supporting the care of patients across the health economy.

- To implement Health and Safety and Risk Management appropriate to area of work

- To deliver aspects of the Clinical Governance Agenda, following the direction of the Clinical Leadership.

- Contribute to and manage various elements of auditing in the UTC.

- Provide immediate life support.

- Recent post registration experience in clinical assessment

- Up-to-date Basic Life Support Certification in Adult and Paediatric
