Vanbrugh Group Practice is looking for a reliable and efficient clinical coder to join their team.

The successful candidate will have excellent IT skills, be able to work efficiently, and prioritise a busy workload. Previous experience is also preferable.

The clinical coder will be responsible for the read coding of relevant information into the patients electronic healthcare records on EMIS WEB clinical system, adhering to the practice coding policy. In addition, the post-holder will also support the multi-disciplinary team, providing administrative support as required, in line with the needs of the practice.

Main duties of the job

APPLICATIONS WITHOUT GENERAL PRACTICE DATA CODING EXPERIENCE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

The following are the core responsibilities of the clinical coder. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

a. Accurately read-coding data on EMIS WEB into the patient record

b. Identifying relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, coding appropriately and completing any detailed actions

c. File and store records as required.

d. Photocopy documentation as required

e. Action all incoming emails and mail in a timely manner

f. Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records

g. Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary

h. Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested
