Job summary

Greenwich Health is committed to providing quality to care to our patients whilst building resilience for General Practice and delivering services and programmes of work to deliver care at scale to the Greenwich Population. The post holder will be required to support a new urgent care streaming service at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking autonomous clinicians to work in a new streaming role based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. With a background in ED desirable for the role or a qualification in triage/clinical assessment. The individual should be confident in decision making depending on patient presentation and be able to confidently direct to the correct clinical area. The service will seek to divert into ED, UCC or even to pharmacy or other primary care services.

Greenwich Health was formed by the leaders of primary care in the Borough of Greenwich to provide integrated healthcare services across Greenwich and to support our member GP Practices.

Today we run services for patients across the borough which includes GP Extended Hours, prevention services and Diabetes management. We have also supported the Covid Pandemic response and are still running a substantial Covid Vaccination programme.

As an experienced nurse, you will need the following:

  • A Proven ability to assess patients.

  • To would work alongside ED staff, the streaming clinician and the streaming administrator

  • Ensure that patients with time-critical and time-sensitive illnesses or injuries are prioritised accordingly.

  • To work as part of the streaming team.

  • Recent post registration experience in clinical assessment.

  • Evidence of professional updating.

  • Understanding of patient flow.

  • Be able to use tools such as NEWS scores in the assessment of patients

  • Work within clinical guidelines/algorithms to support clinical decision making

We are looking for clinicians prepared to work on different shifts 7 days a week.
