We are looking for an enthusiastic Diagnostic Assistant to join our busy and friendly team, working across the Bolton Clinic locations. This is a Bank role and the Clinics are open 7 days a week between 08:00 18:00

Pay: £12.07 per hour

Main duties of the job

To work as part of a team providing to ensure the smooth operation of community based diagnostic clinics. This will involve dealing with patients, acting as a chaperone, tracking patients through the system, recording data to monitor access times and the maintaining of accurate records of clinics on the computerised Patient Administration System One. To provide additional support within the company as required.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

1.To support qualified clinicians in supporting patients seen within Diagnostics

2.Acting as a Chaperone to safeguard patients and colleagues.

3.Work to attain the service KPIs and targets

4.Ensure all patient contact is recorded in a timely manner on the IT systems to enable tracking of patient outcomes, both in real-time to support ongoing intervention planning and retrospectively to understand the impact of the service.

5.To ensure mandatory training is kept up to date.

6.Acknowledge and accommodate barriers to communication and understanding including speech, hearing, language, and emotion.

7.Flexibility in attending organised educational updates and eagerness to expand on current knowledge base and cascading new educational information to colleagues whenever possible.

8.Inform the Clinical Manager of any untoward incidents Work within all relevant policies and procedural guidelines e.g., infection control, safeguarding, chaperoning and risk management.

9.Dispose of clinical waste in a safe manner

10.Contribute to infection control measures by adhering to infection control policies/procedures.

11.To follow systems and procedures to ensure that each patients journey is managed effectively and in a timely fashion.

12.To ensure that patient information is available to relevant healthcare professionals when it is required.

13.To assist in the development of systems to ensure continued efficiency.

14.To assist in improving the quality of information provided to patients at all times.

15.To ensure all information collected is held securely and in confidence

16.To undertake relevant training where necessary

17.To respond quickly to requests for information in accordance with policies and procedures and to be responsible for following the procedures relating to data quality standards for health records.

18.To carry out other relevant duties as instructed by the Head of Diagnostics.
