Job summary
We are a fully NHS service providing Urgent
Dental Care to patients across Lancashire from multiple locations. We currently
have two live services operating in Blackpool and Morecambe and we have
recently been successful in expanding this service into Blackburn and Burnley.This
post is to work in our Morecambe clinic.
The Service operates out of hours, evenings, weekends & bank
holidays – 365 days per year.
We are looking for a looking for a fun, keen and professional individual
to join our team. The role of the receptionists is extremely important to
ensure smooth running of what can be busy clinics.
You will work as part of a team, for the team to work at their best
everyone must play a part, working together, supporting each other is essential
to this post.
Main duties of the job
Greeting and booking patients in
Maintain and update patient records, processing
information received accurately and concisely
Customer service focused
Be very aware of surroundings, a lot of our
patients may feel anxious or could become unwell, it is essential that you are
able to notice any changes and support patients as required
Maintain strict patient confidentiality at all
times. A good working knowledge of Information Governance is essential
This role will encounter stressful situations,
patients attending our clinic are usually in pain or may have been in an
incident attending with injuries. Being able to work effectively under pressure
in a calm and confident manner whilst remaining sensitive to the patient’s
needs is essential
To undertake any clerical work and any other
reception/admin duties relevant to the role
To be responsible for cash handling and end of
day banking procedures
To undertake all relevant training consistent
with the requirements of the post
To be available to provide short notice cover
if/when required
A well presented, keen, friendly individual
As a bank member of the team, you will be
allocated shifts as to usually cover annual leave and sickness, this would
suite someone who is looking for an extra income and is flexible with the
shifts required

About our Dental Team
We provide out of hours emergency
dental care across a growing number of sites in Lancashire, evenings, weekends
and bank holidays. Often dealing with
unplanned treatments in a team that have come to expect the unexpected! We work
closely with the Lancashire dental helpline who support the patient in
accessing our Emergency Dental Service. Through these challenging times,
we make a real impact on the communities we serve; ensuring users get the
assessments they need and that patients are booked into local care services at
same day health centres.
What will the role involve?
Our dental team work in a highly
varied and incredibly busy work environment where no two days are the same.
Patient care is our utmost priority and you will remain calm and professional
even when dealing with high patient volumes or unplanned care.
Duties of the role include:

The receptionist role is extremely important,
you are the first person the patient in need of urgent dental care will meet.
As the face of FCMS Emergency Dental Service you must be a caring, considerate
and confident person.

You have oversight of all activity within the
clinic and must be able to manage a busy environment.
·
Booking in patients arriving for appointments,
managing patients who walk in with query’s/advice, involves clerical work,
liaising with the dental surgery and Lancashire dental helpline colleagues.
·
Responsible for taking payments and end of day
banking.
·
Teamwork is absolutely essential.
