Job summary

West Norfolk Coastal PCN is excited to offer the opportunity for a role as a primary care Occupational Therapist (OT).

This post requires an OT who is highly specialised and can work at an advanced level within the PCN, utilising their in-depth knowledge, clinical skills, and experience at a senior level, in the management of patients occupational therapy conditions.

The post holder will provide intervention for the presenting patient from initial clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of their care within set patient groups.

They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care for patients alongside a strong understanding of risk assessments.

An NHS pension is not available for this role, so NEST will be applied, and weekend working may be required.

Main duties of the job

We're looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist, qualified at a degree level or equivalent, who is keen to utilise their skills in a Primary Care setting.

You should have experience managing a designated caseload, excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, and able tobuild effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.

About us

West Norfolk Health is a GPPO whose membership is made up of all West Norfolk GP Practices. One of our roles is to act as an employer for staff who work in Primary Care Networks. This role is being recruited for our Coastal PCN.

West Norfolk Coastal PCN covers a beautiful rural and coastal area from Hunstanton around to Burnham Market and inland to Grimston and Great Massingham. Our population is approx 34,500 and is made up of the following practices:-

  • Burnham Market
  • Great Massingham
  • Grimston
  • Heacham
  • Vida (Dersingham and Hunstanton)

Our elderly population is higher than the average in England, but there are still significant numbers of young adults and children. Our practices are all relatively small and friendly, and share the same ethos of high-quality care for all. We work well together to meet the challenges posed by providing our service across a large geographical area. We are keen to develop, nurture and support our new staff to form the health care teams of the future.

1. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment plans

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft and GP practice and prescribing data monitoring systems
  • Ability to write comprehensive clinical notes, implement and evaluate care plans
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex/ often incomplete information

Desirable

  • Cognitive behavioural and motivational interviewing approaches / skills
  • Ability to undertake nail surgery assessments, procedure and post-operative care
