Plastic Surgeon- Skin Cancer

Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated individual that wishes to extend their surgical experience within community services. The candidate must possess full GMC registration, MRCP or equivalent. The candidate must have a minimum of 12 months experience in undertaking surgical procedures without supervision.

The role requires community-based consultations and follow ups to be undertaken for Adults and Children who have been referred into the community dermatology service, performing surgical procedures. The candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with patients, have the ability to work within a team and independently, have good time keeping skills to ensure the clinics run smoothly and on time.

Main duties of the job

The Skin/Plastic Surgeon will be responsible for undertaking the following appointments:

Wide Local Excisions of Skin Lesions

Removal of Facial Skin Lesions

Large, General Curette and Curettage of Skin Lesions

Flap Surgery

Intermediate Oculoplastic Procedures (age 19 or above with CC score 0-1)

Excision or biopsy, of Lesion of External Nose

Excision or Biopsy, or Lesion of External Ear, 19 years and over

Intermediate Ear Procedures, 19 years and over

Minor Ear Procedures, 19 years and over

Excision or Biopsy, of Lesion of Mouth, 19 years and over

Intermediate Skin Procedures, 13 years and over

Minor Skin Procedures, 13 years and over
