Job summary

Northern Health GPPO Ltd is delighted to advertise an exciting opportunity for an experience GP to joins it small and dynamic clinical audit team. The successful candidate will work closely with the three Manchester federations: Northern Health GPPO Ltd, Manchester Primary Care Manchester Ltd, South Manchester GP Federation Ltd Clinical Leads, the Board and PCN CDs

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and undertaking clinical audit to support the assurance process for the Enhanced Access Service

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate should have:

Previous involvement in clinical audit activity

Be familiar with PCN working.

Experience of providing clinical feedback to peer group in a formative and supportive manner

Involvement in implementing protocols and clinical guidelines.

Be able to work independently and within a small team.

Capacity to under one session a week to support the real time clinical record keeping audit.

Job Title: Clinical Audit Lead

Department: Northern Health GPPO Ltd

Reports to: Northern Health GPPO Board Lead

Accountable to: Clinical Director

Location: HQ Victoria Mill or Home

Salary: remuneration of 1 session per week inclusive of all expenses

Role Purpose

Work with the Northern Health GPPO Board of Directors, Head of Service and PCN CDs supporting the development and delivery of the clinical audit programmes /activity related to clinical services provided by the federation which includes the EAS

Lead, undertake and co-ordinate the development of clinical audits within the Enhanced Access Scheme, collating results and providing formal reports at a board level.

Act as a focal point for; and provide guidance to clinicians within the service.

Provide clinical leadership supporting service improvements and other local/national policies as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Provide clinical leadership within the Enhanced Access service.

Undertake Clinical Audit of the service as per the clinical lead group plan.

Lead and co-ordinate developments of the clinical audit process this will include attending meetings and maintaining relationships with the clinical leads group.

Be responsible for feedback of audit data to clinicians and boards of directors as required (NHGPPO/ PCN 1 and MPCP and steering group).

Be responsible for any mentoring and performance management of clinicians that may be identified.

Lead on any clinical educational needs or service quality improvement projects that are identified for the service as a whole (e.g. implementation of specific regional / national guidelines if identified as being relevant etc.).

Be responsible for coordinating complaints management for clinical aspects of the service (i.e. complaint responses and escalation to board of directors when appropriate)

To undertake duties as necessary in line with changing needs of the organisation.

To be familiar with and conform with responsibilities under the data protection act as identified within the organisation (and being familiar with local data sharing agreements within the service - note these are sector specific only i.e. Northern Health GPPO patient specific data cannot be shared with other sectors)

Communication / Working relationships:

Northern Health GPPO Ltd

Northern Health GPPO Ltd through a subcontract arrangement with PCNs: Crumpsall and Cheetham and City Centre and Ancoats are responsibility for the day-to-day delivery, engagement and management of staff. There is a Lead Director within the federation to provide support with regards audit results and to discuss complaints management with. He or she will also act as a line of communication with Northern Health GPPO & PCN boards in relation to outputs and reports.

Clinical Leads Network:

Maintain relationships with clinical leads within other Manchester Federations and other MPCP sectors.

Attend quarterly meetings with the other leads for benchmarking of audit data and peer support.

Regular contact as required to maintain a consistent approach throughout the service regarding clinical matters.

Be a source of reference and support for the City Wide PN and HCAs Clinical Lead with regards to issues associated with Nurses and HCA employed by Northern Health GPPO Ltd

Liaise with the federation administration team as required to obtain up to date lists of GPs working within the service.

Attendance at governance meetings and Individual federation board meetings may be required by request.

Training and Development

To attend compulsory training event organised by the employing federation.

To participate in 1-1 meeting and appraisal

Take responsibility to maintain own professional development by attending study days, placements courses etc.

Organisational Duties

To work closely with other and ensure that mechanisms are established for the collection of data.

To follow systems of case review and work within the audit framework.

To follow patient feedback systems

Contributing to achieve a good or above CQC rating.

To contribute to a safe working environment for all adherences to health and safety management systems
