Job summary
Bristol Ambulance EMS is currently seeking to fill a number of vacancies for Paramedics in the South West and South Central area.
We are looking for candidates who are committed to delivering excellent pre-hospital care. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills working within a team; with a professional approach, working well under pressure.
Main duties of the job
You will carry out allocated operational duties commensurate with the role and responsibilities, supporting the provision of clinical social and holistic care to patients in a pre-hospital environment, safely and within appropriate level of training and competency.
Responding to emergency and urgent calls, delivering high quality and effective pre-hospital care. This will include 999 emergencies, inter-hospital transport and a range of other business related activities.
Carry out assessment, care, treatment and transportation of patients as an operational practitioner. You will work in a variety of locations.

Salary paid at the following rates. Part-time rate pro-rata applies.
Newly qualified Paramedic £34,624.51
Paramedic £42,835.10
Carry out assessment, care, treatment and transportation of patients as an operational practitioner, working in a variety of locations.
Use appropriate advanced driving skills under blue light or normal traffic conditions when responding to or conveying the patient as required.
Post-holders will initiate appropriate care and effective treatment to patients in pre-hospital environment, selecting and applying appropriate skills and equipment safely and within appropriate level of education, competence and scope of practice.
Post holders will present themselves for duty in accordance with the Company
dress code and in the uniform provided at all times whilst on duty. They will
ensure that they are properly equipped at the start of each duty period.
A high degree of flexibility is essential. It may be necessary for the postholder
to move from one environment to the other at short notice to provide cover as
required.
They will at all times promote and uphold the Vision and Values of the
company and be focussed on delivering the highest quality patient care,
improving the working lives of all staff.

Essential
- Valid HCPC Paramedic registration
- Full driving licence held for a minimum of 1 year with a maximum of 3 penalty points
- A minimum of four GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A-C including English Language or Literature, Maths and a science.
- Or, As equivalent, demonstrable experience in working directly in a patient/healthcare/emergency services setting
Desirable
- Clean Driving Licence.
- C1 on licence
Experience
Essential
- Experience in dealing with a range of age and social groups.
- Experience of working with the general public.
Desirable
- Working in a health and/or social care environment in a
- voluntary or paid capacity.
- Experience in a driving role for a care organisation.
- Experience within an Emergency Services role
