This
is an exciting opportunity for pharmacy technicians from all pharmacy sectors
to join the Sunderland Primary Care Networks clinical pharmacy team.
We
are an established clinical pharmacy team comprising: a lead pharmacist; senior
clinical pharmacists; clinical pharmacists; and pharmacy technicians, providing
innovative, high quality, patient-centred care to our patients.
We are looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team who are enthusiastic, dedicated, can work independently
as well as part of a team and be flexible due to the ever-changing nature of
primary care.
In this role, you will be working as a member of one of our six PCNs and part of the larger Sunderland wide team providing you with a well-supported network.
Main duties of the job
In this role, you will be working as a member of one of our six PCNs and part of the larger Sunderland wide team providing you with a well-supported network.
As part of the role the successful candidate would be expected to:
Undertake patient facing and patient supporting roles to ensure effective medicines use, through shared decision-making conversations with patients.
Carry out medicines optimisation tasks including effective medicine administration (e.g., checking inhaler technique), supporting medication reviews and medicines reconciliation
Provide support to Multi-Disciplinary Teams
You will also be expected to undertake training provided through the CPPE primary care pharmacy education pathway

Essential
- BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences
- Mandatory registration with General Pharmaceutical Council
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD)
- UK driving licence
- UK work permit (if required)
- Experience of working as a qualified, registered pharmacy technician in primary care, community, or hospital pharmacy
Desirable
- Experience of working in a primary care setting
- Medicines reconciliation qualification

- Appreciation of General Practice and working alongside General practice staff
- Knowledge of Primary Care Networks, General Practice, and evidence-based medicine
- An appreciation of the NHS agenda and Government targets
