Job summary

Job description

Job responsibilities

Acting as an extension of the business brand and core values, the purpose of this role is to undertake all administrative tasks required to ensure the smooth running of our new NHS Dermatology Department.

You'll build key relationships with patients and clinicians and will be responsible for taking inbound enquiry calls from patients, GPs or other clinical colleagues. You will manage and process new NHS referrals, update patient records as required and send various types of letters to GPs and other healthcare professionals.

This role requires excellent attention to detail and the ability to use own initiative and adapt to changing priorities.

Starting hours will be 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday, this role could include working Saturdays and Sundays in the future on a rota basis. The successful applicant will need to be flexible to work within the service requirements.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • GSCE Maths and English grade C and above or equivalent.
  • Professional telephone manner with excellent administration and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to use own initiative and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • An awareness of and commitment to supporting and facilitating diversity and inclusion
  • Willingness to travel, which may include overnight stays on occasion, as and when required.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working at a healthcare environment.
  • Experience using NHS IT systems including EMIS, AccuRx, eRS, NHS mail.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

This is a fixed term role for 12 months.
