Job summary

This is an exciting time for an ambitious and self-driven individual to join us as the Head of New Business. Working with the NHS, you will be able to navigate the NHS system to horizon scan for potential opportunities, forging meaningful relationships and identifying tender opportunities which will drive commercial growth.

Although this role is not a Board position, there is a requirement for the Head of New Business to present business cases and pitches to the Board from time to time.

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team and a senior leader in the business, the Head of New Business will contribute to the development of strategy for all areas of the Group. You will also play your part in leading the delivery of key areas in service operations in times of urgent need. Acting as an on-call director from time to time may become part of this responsibility.

Main duties of the job

As Head of New Business, you will act as an ambassador for SELDOC and our brand. You will be people focused, with evidence of building new relationships and opportunities with a mindset that will help achieve innovative growth. You will work to manage and drive the bid process, bringing energy and expertise to win NHS and other sector tenders, and seek out further tender opportunities.

A self-starter, you will have proven experience of delivering effective new business strategies and plans. You will ideally have experience of leading sales activities to deliver against targets and strengthen brand credentials. An effective leader, you will have proven ability to build and nurture relationships with corporate customers in the NHS and the not for profit sector, delivering on target outcomes.

You will manage your time between our London Office and meeting face to face with individuals and organisations. Leading on growth and commercial opportunities is a strategic priority for the organisation and you will be expected to create and deliver on a plan for new business supported by the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team.

We are commissioned by the NHS to deliver healthcare services across the South East London region including care within NHS Hospitals, GP Practices, PCNs, Federations, and the London Ambulance Service offering unscheduled and urgent care services including supporting local NHS 111 provision.

Established as a GP cooperative, we are owned by c100 practices across South East London and are proud to support our members. A successful organisation with a turnover of £11m, our main focus is Primary Care in the NHS including GP Practices and Hospitals. We have also embarked on a long term ambition to set up services to the private sector under our brand Verve.
