Job summary
Are you a GP who enjoys problem-solving and wants to reduce
unnecessary admin?
Barnet PCN3 is offering an exciting opportunity for a general
practitioner to join a dynamic, supportive team in a brand-new role that
improves patient care and reduces inefficiencies in document management.
PCN3 serves a population of over 79,000 patients across 7 GP practices. We're at the forefront of digital innovation and workforce development, and we're transforming how GPs engage with administrative tasks by leveraging AI and cross-role working.
You'll be reviewing clinical letters processed by our AI
platform (Anima) and GPA team, providing a GP overview where necessary, and
delivering follow-up care for patients where appropriate. This is a blended
role of document triage and face-to-face consultations, enabling
GPs to focus on impactful, clinically relevant care.
Part-time (4-6 sessions)
The role advertised under BFG T&Cs and not the model BMA contract.
Please note you must have UK registration or a right to work in the UK. We do not provide any form of sponsorship or work visas
Main duties of the job
- Review incoming clinical correspondence marked for GP input (triaged by Anima AI and GP Assistants)
- Ensure letters are coded accurately and acted upon safely
- Conduct consultations where patient care is required (e.g. medication changes, referrals, abnormal results)
- Maintain clear documentation in EMIS
- Work collaboratively with GPAs, pharmacists, the wider practice team and PCN admin and management.
- Support the governance and improvement of this PCN-wide process
- As part of this role, the post-holder will actively contribute to the development of the GPA workforce by providing informal supervision, sharing clinical reasoning, and supporting upskilling opportunities. The aim is to enhance the GPA team's ability to independently code, file, and safely triage a wider range of clinical letters. The GP will collaborate with GPA leads and the training team to shape real-time feedback, identify learning needs, and promote a culture of continuous improvement across the document management workflow.
