There is an exciting opportunity to working for NCL training hub in the role of Supported Return to Training (SRTT) Champion for GP trainees in North Central London (covering (Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, and Islington).
The London Supported Return to Training (SuppoRTT) programme aims to support all trainees to return to training safely and confidently after a sustained period of absence
Its consists of 2 sessions a month on a fixed term contract , start date flexible.
This role would suit a GP with an interest in education and peer wellbeing who enjoys connecting and communicating and delivering of training.
The role will work closely with the Barnet Clinical Lead for Training Hub and Barnet Training Hub Programme Manager.
Barnet Federation are hosting the role on behalf of Barnet Training Hub.

Main duties of the job
The SupporTT programme can offer:
- A period of enhanced supervision
- Funding for a period of supernumerary time
- Access to online and face-to-face refresher courses and simulation training
- Mentoring or professional coaching (via Professional Support Unit)
- Attendance at conferences, workshops, and webinars
- Access to online learning resources
- Funding for other courses or training, as individually required
The first point of contact for the returning GP trainee will usually be their educational supervisor (ES) or training programme director (TPD) throughout the return-to-work process. However, if additional guidance and support is required then returning GP trainees, educators and other staff can contact their local SuppoRTT Champion and the central SuppoRTT team.
SuppoRTT Champions are based in both secondary care trusts and Specialty Schools. The post holder will be responsible for providing leadership and to ensure that the SuppoRTT strategy is fully implemented, resulting in a high-quality supported return to training for all GP trainees
About us
The North Central London (NCL) Training Hub is a network of multidisciplinary primary care teams, community providers, and social care providers. Training Hubs receive core funding from Health Education England, but we also have extra commissions from NHS England & Improvement and Local Authorities.
The NCL Training Hub has been established to enhance training, education, and workforce development with specific focus on enhancing the recruitment of new, and retention of current, staff. The NCL Training Hub has developed innovative educational and workforce initiatives for primary, community and social care. During 2021-22, these innovative models have been shortlisted and won national awards, including from HSJ and Nursing Times.
Barnet Federated GPs CIC is a not for profit organisation, putting GPs and healthcare professionals at the forefront of Primary Healthcare provision in Barnet. The Federation was formed in 2015 and aims to improve the quality of health in Barnet through sustainable primary care. Its current membership consists of all 48 primary care practices within the borough. Although we are a private company, we hold a strong affiliation to the NHS, its constitution and guiding principles.
