Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a junior management accountant to join Barnet federated GPs and expand our team to support the Head of Finance with the day-to-day financial requirements of the organisation, including developing and managing financial systems and policies, as well as performing administrative and other tasks within the finance function of the organisation. The candidate will need to be UK based and the role is fixed term for 9 months with a possibility of a permanent role.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that robust finance processes are in place and are being followed and working with the Head of Finance to continuously improve the working practices within the finance team. In addition, you will promote good customer service and effective working relationships. As the post holder you will need to be flexible and efficient while demonstrating excellent attention to detail strong communication skills. Previous experience in a similar role is essential.

Barnet Federated GPs CIC is an organisation consisting of 52 general practices in the London Borough of Barnet covering approximately 400,000 patients. The company was first formed in November 2015 through the coming together of GP surgeries in all 3 localities within Barnet (North, South and West). Board members were elected through their respective localities to represent the whole of Barnet.

  • A recognised financial qualification or at least three years of experience.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Able to maintain accurate and effective record keeping systems.
  • Can produce accurate records and reports.
  • Can communicate effectively.
  • Shows sensitivity and objectivity in dealing with confidential issues.
  • Works on own initiative, prioritise work, handle pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Willing to contribute to the team.
  • Flexible and efficient while demonstrating excellent attention to detail.
  • Reliable, punctual, professional.
  • Strong administration skill.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Competent in Excel and Word

Desirable

  • Degree qualified or equivalent of 3 years experience in similar role.
  • Experience of working in a healthcare organisation.
