Main duties of the job

As a dedicated and passionate Health & wellbeing Coach delivering primarily on our One You Haringey Move More physical activity service, you will play a vital role in helping individuals improve their overall health and well-being.

The role will include:

Delivering group exercise classes to residents of Haringey.

Being passionate about helping residents live healthier lives and making a difference in the community. Join us in our mission to empower individuals to break free from living an unhealthy lifestyle and to make the behaviour changes necessary to improve health outcomes.

18.75 hours per week including evenings and some weekend work maybe required.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Conducting one-on-one consultations with participants to assess their readiness to exercise and make behaviour changes to improve their health in line with their needs.

Providing ongoing support and encouragement to participants throughout their journey with the service.

Delivering group face to face exercise classes in the community.

Monitoring and evaluating participant progress.

Collaborating with other healthcare professionals and community organizations to promote the One You Haringey programme.

Maintaining accurate records of client interactions and program outcomes.

Liaise with professionals including GPs and primary care staff to promote and generate referrals to the service.

Attend outreach events to promote the service within Haringey

Managing physical activity content on the OYH App

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

• Experience of working effectively in a team
• Previous experience of delivering group exercise classes to the community
• Demonstrable experience of delivering high quality customer service.
• Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience of using database systems to input data and track progress of customer/potential customers.

Qualifications

Essential

• Level 2 in Fitness Instructing
• GCSE English Language at a minimum of a Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification). OR achievement of a Level 2 in Literacy Assessment at interview stage.

Desirable

• Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training
• Degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Sports & Exercise, Psychology, or related subject
