Main duties of the job
The post holder is an experienced clinical pharmacist who acts within their professional boundaries. They will ideally be working within primary care already and this role would be in addition to their clinical responsibilities.
The post holder will provide 2 leadership and management sessions based at Haringey GP Federation head office in addition to their clinical responsibilities.
The clinical pharmacist team is centrally recruited and managed on behalf of seven primary care networks in Haringey. The post holder will have management responsibilities for Band clinical pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Pre-registration pharmacy technicians and Foundation Pharmacists, to support their induction and ongoing development as well as track performance of key deliverables. Key responsibilities for the post holder which could include (but not limited to):
-Delivery of long term conditions strategy for practice(s) and the PCN
-Leading on our centralised approach to safety alerts, policies and training.
-Provide mentorship through 1-2-1s for direct line reports. This is with the aim to develop competencies and provide assurance on quality of service provision.
-Ensure appropriate direction and progress for PCN pharmacy teams on workstreams agreed with PCNs
-Contribute towards supervision and support of trainee pharmacists / foundation pharmacists

Responsibilities underpinning the role
To plan and organize own workload, including audit and project work, and training sessions for members of the clinical pharmacy team, GP practice team.
To record personally generated information and maintain a database of information relating to the work done in the practice(s). Personally generated information includes information and records relating to audit and clinical work undertaken by the post holder, reference notes relating to clinical/technical information. The database includes maintaining up-to-date, detailed records of all work done in the practices for which the post holder is accountable (done by the post holder or others)
To maintain registration as a pharmacist and comply with appropriate professional codes.
As appropriate to the post, to maintain and develop professional competence and expertise, keep up to date with medical/therapeutic evidence and opinion, and local and national service, legislation and policy developments, agree objectives and a personal development plan and participate in the appraisal process.
To attend local, regional and national meetings of relevance as agreed with the post holders line manager.
To undertake any other duties commensurate with the post holders grade as agreed with the post holders line manager.

- Masters degree in pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent
- Independent Prescribing Qualification or on track to complete within the next 3-6 months
- Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council
Desirable
- Post-graduate clinical diploma level or equivalent training/experience
- Membership of or working towards advanced or faculty membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
