Job summary
HEE National Team have provided funding to support the deployment of practice educators to support the nursing associate apprentice role into primary care networks. The context for the provision of this support is the inclusion of the Apprentice Nursing Associate within the NHSE/I Additional Reimbursable Roles Scheme and recognition of the additional support required to understand, embed, and support this role within primary care.
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic Registered Nurse based in North Central London, to facilitate high standards of clinical practice to General Practice. A key objective for this role is to promote General Practice as an attractive setting for Nursing Associates to develop new pathways to enable entry into the specialism.
The successful candidate(s) will need to develop networks to support Trainee Nursing Associates and Nursing Associates to reduce isolation and vulnerability of their roles.
The Educator(s) will initially work with the Primary Care Network (PCN)’s in the Integrated Care Systems (ICS) to support the following:
- Clinical teaching and assessing for the Trainee Nursing Associate (TNA) apprentices to successfully complete their programme.
- Support pre-registered nurses during their placements in General Practice.
- Support registered nurses new to the specialism with their development and smooth transition into General Practice.
Main duties of the job
You should be a Registered Nurse with post registration experience as a clinical educator and/or an understanding of pre-registration training.
You will have strong interpersonal and communications skills, be able to work independently, and have great time management skills.
Willing to travel to various sites across NCL

The purpose of the Training Hub is to support team working across professional and organisational boundaries to prevent fragmentation and duplication of care. Training Hubs are seen to be the main vehicle to deliver workforce development, training, and education in local areas.
The North Central London Training Hub is made up of five local borough-based hubs (Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Camden and Islington) that work collaboratively across the local ICS footprint to support key workforce agendas.
