Job summary

The way the NHS and Social Care communicate is changing; and NCL have a programme of work to support our Social Care providers to practice good data security by completing The Data Security and Protection Toolkit.

We are looking for individuals who are motivated, flexible, driven and have excellent communication skills to support our Social Care providers to complete the tool kit.

This role will enable you to build professional relationships with our Social Care providers. This will include visiting care homes in person and virtual support to help them on their digital journey. You will be working in a team that is supportive, inclusive and encourages creative thinking.

This role will ensure that all care homes within North Central London are supported to complete the NHS Digital Data Security & Protection Toolkit so that they can benefit from other NHS Digital Offers such as NHSMail, Analytics platforms and Local Health & Social Care Record Sharing.

The post holder will be required to work across the North Central London Boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey & Islington. The main office base is situated at Hornsey Central Neighbourhood Centre, Haringey, N8 8JD with availability for some home working

You will manage a team of 3 facilitators and an administrator to ensure delivery of this project.

Background

To support delivery of NHS long-term plans and the impact Covid-19 has had on those people living in care homes, a programme has been established across North Central London to support Enhanced Health in Care Homes. North Central London covers the London Boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey & Islington.

The post holder will be working as part of the Remote Monitoring Project team; which is one of the projects within the Enhanced Health in Care Homes sub work stream. The Remote Monitoring Project has been funded by NHSX as a focused project until the end of March 2022 and has a tight, time dependent schedule of milestones to be achieved. The team also consists of 5 Nurse Educators who provide clinical training to care homes on new digital remote monitoring technology.

Both teams are hosted by the NCL Training Hub which is funded by both Health Education England & NHS England / Improvement to support the workforce across Primary, Community & Social Care.

Job Summary

The Data Security and Protection Toolkit is an online self-assessment tool that allows organisations to measure their performance against the National Data Guardians 10 data security standards

All organisations that have access to NHS Patient data and systems must use this toolkit to provide assurance that they are practising good data security and that personal information is handled correctly.

This role will ensure that all care homes within North Central London are supported to complete the NHS Digital Data Security & Protection Toolkit so that they can benefit from other NHS Digital Offers such as NHSMail, Analytics platforms and Local Health & Social Care Record Sharing.

Key roles

Undertake face-to-face & virtual support to allocated care homes in partnership with the Digital Nursing Educator Team to ensure that the Data Security and Protection Toolkit project is planned, managed and delivered effectively

Undertake virtual online & face-to-face training provided to gain knowledge and understanding of what digital integration is for care homes, including training in the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT), other digital tools and general support for the care home sector

Manage the Data Security and Protection Toolkit project,with the aim of ensuring that all care homes are compliant, with good data security processes in place and patient information managed appropriately

Support and inform the targeting of resources, monitoring, implementation and evaluation of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit project, by providing high quality support including complex information and analysis, communications and stakeholder management

Ensure accurate and open communication and co-ordination with a range of organisations and individuals, researching and drafting correspondence and papers and ensuring the management of specific tasks, lead reporting and analysis across a range of specialties, functions and projects

Manage your own workload and prioritise effectively, seeking support from your Project Manager when you are unsure
