Job summary

The Health Education England London Primary Care School has secured funding for a Project Manager to support Primary Care initiatives, within each of the 5 ICS/STP footprints on a 12 month fixed term basis.

The post holder will predominantly support the SPIN Fellowships agenda, with scope to support and manage other Primary Care projects and initiatives within the local areas as requested by or agree with HEE.

Each London ICS/STP footprint has an appointed SPIN Programme Director (clinical role), who the Project Manager will work with closely to support, enhance and co-ordinate the development of the SPIN programme. They will play a key role in the success of the programme by engaging with networks locally to develop a range of portfolio and GP employment opportunities.

About us

North Central London Primary & Community Care Training Hub

Since their inception as Community Education Provider Networks (CEPNs) 6 years ago, Training Hubs have developed as effective networks that develop innovative educational and workforce initiatives for primary, community and social care.

The purpose of the Training Hub is to support team working across professional and organisational boundaries to prevent fragmentation and duplication of care. Training Hubs are seen to be the main vehicle to deliver workforce development, training and education in local areas.

The North Central London Training Hub is made up of five local borough based hubs (Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Camden and Islington) that work collaboratively across the local STP footprint to support key workforce agendas including the General Practice Nursing Ten Point Plan and Fellowships programme.

This post will be employed by the Haringey Training Hub, on behalf of all five boroughs

Responsibilities

1. SPIN Project Manager

1.1 Proactively broker relationships with local employers to negotiate and design SPIN portfolio options for the programme.

1.2 Bring together existing plans/portfolio options and create the necessary summary documentation for the SPIN programme, using the SPIN toolkit and memorandum of understanding (MOU).

1.3 Liaise with ICS to ensure incorporation of the NHSE/I new to practice fellowship resources, with those other resources from HEE to maximize the retention offer and number of places in the ICS footprint by coordinating, combining and aligning all initiatives on new to practice retention.

1.4 Proactively seek out and broker offers for the GP employer element of SPIN

1.5 Arrange and manage the end to end recruitment process for delegates (GP and Nurses) applying to the programme.

1.6 Facilitate employment agreements between parties using the pan-London SPIN MOU.

1.7 Provide administrative and management support for the monthly SPIN peer support sessions, led by the PD.

1.8 Act as first point of contact for all SPIN queries across the footprint, for both participants and employers (portfolio and practice employers).

1.9 Provide project management support to any other local primary care initiatives or projects as directed by HEE.

1.10 Liaise closely with various stakeholders:

Local training hubs

Local hospital trusts

Local community organisations

Local ICS/STP

This is an evolving role and the post holder will be expected to meet the challenges that may be presented commensurate with the band.

3.1 Act as an expert resource/champion of interprofessional learning in placement

3.2 Communicate educational and practice information across placement providers and educational Institutions, and undertake presentations relating to education in practice.

3.3 Ensure communication channels are used appropriately to facilitate the flow of information between member organisations.

3.4 Share best practice relating to quality assurance and interprofessional learning across placement providers.

3.5 Produce regular progress reports to inform learning and development monitoring within the Training Hub(s)

3.6 Ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times in conjunction with organisational policies.
