14.5 hours per week
We
seek to appoint a part-time Medical Receptionist to join our friendly team to
work 14.5 hours per week. Shifts are Thursdays
7.45-3.15pm and Fridays 11am-6.45pm.
Flexibility to provide holiday cover at additional times is essential.
The ideal candidate will be well motivated and able to work under pressure with
a caring and professional manner. Good
keyboard skills and computer literacy are essential, previous experience of
General Practice and Emis Web is desirable.
Main duties of the job
Duties vary
on a day to day basis however the main duties of the job are to answer
telephone calls to the practice to
assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare
professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
You will be required to take messages for clinical
and administration staff, register new patients, process incoming and
outgoing mail, scanning, filing and coding patient correspondence to medical
records and forwarding to GP’s as required, contact patients to arrange
follow up care and appointments.
Provide general assistance to the practice team
and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors,
either in person or via the telephone.

Much Birch Surgery is a 5 partner, rural
dispensing practice at the heart of the community, with a practice list size of
5000 patients. The practice covers an
area reaching from the edges of Hereford to Ross on Wye, extending into the
villages of the Golden Valley.

reception area, waiting room, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy
and free from obstructions and clutter.
Other Tasks:
- Pulling/filing
notes for surgeries and update as necessary
- Clear, tidy and
restock clinical rooms
- Ensure building
security – opening up/locking up of practice premises and maintaining
security in accordance with Practice protocols
- Ensure compliance
with strict confidentiality standards at all times
- Attend team
meetings
- Attend training
sessions
- Liaise with
hospital and external agencies as required
- Make tea / coffee
for staff and doctors
- Any other tasks
allocated by the Reception Manager and/or Practice Manager.
