The Business Intelligence (BI) and information function is responsible for providing intelligence relating to the whole business, in the context of activity, cost, quality and performance data. It will store and present information in a consistent, unified way to ensure that Taurus and wider general practice are working from one version of truth that supports effective decision making. The Data and Digital Lead is a crucial role within the organisation and will support the improvement and delivery of this agenda across Taurus Healthcare and Herefordshire General Practice.

It is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront in developing the way Practices and PCNs use data and analytics to inform the decisions they make and empowering a Population Health Management (PHM) approach

Main duties of the job

The role is broken down into 5 key areas and is reliant on a strong person to drive forward objectives, lead an information and digital team, use data to improve services and provide General Practice expertise to PLACE and ICS forums.

Areas include:

Taurus Corporate

· Managing and delivering data extraction, interrogation, analysis, triangulation , comparison, analysis and reporting

Primary Care Networks

· Support and further develop the analytical agenda whilst giving operational support to PCNs through Dashboards and data packs

PLACE based System

· Support the delivery of PLACE based reporting and Population health Management required by the Herefordshire Intelligence Cell

Federative Services

· Support the resilience of Herefordshire General Practice by facilitating, supporting, leading, developing and engaging partners

Digital

· Represent Herefordshire General practice and Taurus whilst leading on project implementation

JOB PURPOSE

The role requires an advanced theoretical and practical knowledge on General Practice, data and Business Intelligence, EMIS and other GP Practice digital systems and must have experience working in multiple roles across general practice

Provide operational management to achieve a high quality business intelligence service with specific responsibility for ensuring the transformational requirements across primary care networks are supported. It will work in a matrix style which supports a number of the organisation’s functions, including corporate reporting, quality and safety and general practice at scale including the primary care networks. This includes:

· Data extraction

· Interrogation and analysis (including a focus on reducing variation)

· Triangulation and comparison, and

· reporting

Responsible for delivering on the strategic priorities for the Information team corporately. Across Herefordshire and the ICS the post holder will represent the information agenda on behalf of General Practice.

Main Responsibilities

1. Taurus Corporate

Managing and delivering data extraction, interrogation, analysis, triangulation , comparison, analysis and reporting for

· Taurus corporate functions , supporting committees and Board

· KPI reports for contract meetings

· Quality reports as requested by members of quality and service management teams

· To support the delivery of day to day activities and projects, identifying risks, issues and dependencies.

· Directly managing the BI and information team, responsible for day to day work assigned to Team

o Responsible for undertaking appraisal and personal development including progressing any disciplinary or capability issues.

· Be consulted regarding Key Performance Indicators and determine the ability to evidence quality and performance prior to finalising contract negotiations.

· Responsible for developing and maintaining information related policies

· Responsible for leading the development of the Integrated Performance Dashboard to ensure the organisation has visibility of the performance and quality standards and can respond to issues
