Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Pharmacist to join our growing team in Workington, Cumbria.

This role is available on a full time basis, working 42.5 hours a week covering Monday Fridays with Saturday cover optional.

We are looking for a pharmacist who is enthusiastic, highly motivated, dynamic and above all passionate about making a difference. As a company we take pride in our level of care for our patients and the high standard of customer service and want our pharmacist to share these values.

You will be supported in your role by an excellent team consisting of a team supervisor, dispensers and health care assistant. We are also in the process of training a checking dispenser to help lighten this load for the pharmacist. You will also receive support and guidance from our head office team who are there to make your job simpler and more pleasant.

We are really proud to be one of the front runners in the area for services and want our pharmacist to be driven in this regard. We currently offer all advanced services (NMS, Hypertension case finding, Flu and Covid vaccinations) as well as locally commissioned services (UTI, Smoking cessation, EHC etc).

We offer a very competitive package including an excellent basic pay as well as a generous service bonus as well as payment of your registration fees and ongoing training. Rate of pay can be negotiated based on experience. We are also happy to accept overseas candidates and can apply for a visa if necessary.

Main duties of the job

The main duties are those relating to the day to day running of a community pharmacy. You will be required to clinically and accurately check prescriptions and keep records as required by law.

You will need to be able to speak and liaise with other healthcare professionals as necessary. You will also need to be able to give advice to your customers regarding their medications as well as over the counter queries.

You must also be able to carry out services. These will include advanced services as well as locally commissioned ones.
