Main duties of the job

    The main purpose / duties of the role include:

    • To provide support in the delivery of a quality dispensing and medicine supply service.
    • To provide support in implementing developments within operational services to meet the needs of the patient.
    • To label, dispense and supply prescriptions presenting to the pharmacy department in readiness for technical checking.
    • To work flexibly between the hours 0830 and 2000 as part of the dispensary team to provide and maintain a comprehensive pharmaceutical service in line with current departmental policies and procedures.

    Crucible Pharmacy Ltd is owned by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust but operates outside of the NHS and provides pharmacy services to outpatients for the trust across two dispensaries covering all of the trust sites. It also provides a dispensing service for inpatient discharge prescriptions including compliance aids.

    Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is investing heavily in Crucible Pharmacy Ltd with new, state of the art, outpatient dispensaries under construction at both the Northern General and Royal Hallamshire sites, featuring the latest technology in robotic dispensing systems.
