Job summary
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS VACANCY IS FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF SUFFOLK DENTAL COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY (CIC)
To be part of a wider dental team providing clinical and managerial leadership to dentists, dental therapists/hygienists including recruitment, training & development, supervision, and direct line management. Responsible for clinical governance and ensuring this is embedded in all aspects of the day to day running of the dental service in collaboration with the wider dental team. A part of the senior leadership team responsible for working with the CEO, Clinical Director and Operations Manager to provide strategic support for the business and ensure all regulatory and statutory requirements are met.
Main duties of the job
To provide clinical leadership and management for the clinical team
Provide clinical supervision of dentists and dental therapists/hygienists. This may involve contributing to the appraisal process for colleagues.
Working with the senior leadership team to monitor, lead, assure, and report delivery of clinical care in line with contract requirements of the CIC
To provide clinical training, mentoring, resources, support and advice for dentists and dental teams
To maintain clinical presence and activity by providing dental care for an agreed number of sessions
Undertake thorough examination and assessment of service user and deliver a full and comprehensive range of dental care to the client group to render them dentally fit in a caring, safe and efficient way.
Work effectively with colleagues delivering high quality, responsive clinical services which meet service user needs. This will include liaison with other clinics, University of Suffolk colleagues and other providers of NHS primary care dental services.
Plan and manage care where there are complex needs, or the situation requires the involvement of other professionals to resolve complex service user management issues as agreed with local commissioning.
