This job is now closed

Job summary

Full time (full-time equivalent job share considered), permanent contract, non-residential position in an Ofsted-rated Outstanding School.

Post: We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly professional Occupational Therapy Assistant, ideally with experience in special needs, to join our dynamic team as soon as possible. We offer excellent training and support working in a unique, friendly and professional environment.

Large, friendly multi-disciplinary team;

Comprehensive support and training given;

Competitive salary;

Generous school holidays.

All school employees benefit from: free on-site parking, excellent free lunchtime meals and use of the fitness gym suite. Our school terms are shorter than in the state sector, with generous holidays. We also provide a comprehensive induction programme and ongoing professional development, supported through INSET days and other training opportunities.

Main duties of the job

The role and responsibilities include:

to deliver Occupational Therapy for pupils and record progress, with support and direction from the Occupational Therapists;

to enable pupils to access the full curriculum by providing support within the classroom as necessary;

to liaise with other staff as required;

to provide support for public examinations;

to provide administrative support;

to prepare suitable materials to support therapy;

to supervise break times;

to attend whole school induction programme (in your first year);

to engage in the after school support programme;

to attend school functions as requested.

This list of duties is not exhaustive, and as with all roles in the school, the position includes any other duties, from time to time, deemed appropriate or necessary by the Headmaster.

This post would suit a person with an interest in supporting children with coordination difficulties to develop their skills and independence. Experience working with children, or delivering Occupational Therapy intervention, is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate as full training and support will be provided.

Although advertised as a full-time position, we would consider a job-share. A part-time opportunity might be available. Please contact us if you would like to discuss the post further.
