Assistant Psychologist / Curriculum Project Manager

Job summary

The Doctorate in Clinical Psychology team at the University of Plymouth are seeking a graduate in psychology, or related discipline, to lead a crucial project to map and develop the curriculum in order to enhance the programme and achieve accreditation with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP).

The postholder will be based with the Clinical Psychology team at the University of Plymouth with remote working possible for a proportion of the time.

The Doctorate Programme is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council and accredited by the British Psychological Society.

Main duties of the job

The post is funded on a fixed-term basis for 12 months and is available full time, although applicants for part-time will be considered. The post offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in shaping development of the well-established Plymouth DClinPsych Programme.

Role Summary:

This is a new position within the DClinPsych team. Under the guidance of the Academic Director and as a member of the DClinPsy team, the role holder is responsible for managing the timely development and delivery of a project to prepare the programme for accreditation by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP) and other curriculum enhancement projects. The Project Manager will help ensure an effective and efficient course accreditation outcome.

Key Accountabilities:

· Manage the delivery and development of the course accreditation process.

· Undertake a competency mapping exercise of the DClinPsych curriculum as a whole.

· Becomes very fluent with BABCP Document: Course Accreditation Process for courses providing training in Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapies: Courses at Level 1, Level 2, IAPT High Intensity Level 2, and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology/Clinical Psychology Doctorate (BABCP 2020)

· Develop detailed knowledge of the main competency frameworks relevant the DClinPsych training including BPS CTCP criteria and HCPC Standards of Proficiency.

· Ensures accurate and timely delivery of the accreditation timeline, collaborates with the DClinPsych team, and ensures agreed targets and standards are consistently met.

· Develops, motivates and coaches course team and associated external stakeholders to collaborate in the process, providing information and feedback on progress.

· Is aware of and follows the relevant financial and regulatory policies ensuring necessary regulations and standards are adhered to during the accreditation process.

· Reviews and monitors processes, procedures and associated documentation, drawing in specialist knowledge, implementing or making recommendations for changes as appropriate.

· Co-ordinates and contributes to complex meetings, visits, conferences, committees and facilitates knowledge exchange, representing Plymouth University both internally and externally where requested.

· Provides guidance and delivers training on designated specialist activities and associated policies and procedures

· Ensures all activities undertaken are in compliance with the University’s Safety Policy
