are invited from outstanding clinical academics for a National Institute for
Health and Care Research (NIHR) Academic Clinical Lecturer in Oral Surgery OR
Post-CCT Orthodontics at Bristol Dental School. The post is available
immediately. This full-time clinical academic training post is based at Bristol
Dental School with clinical training primarily at University Hospitals Bristol
and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. We welcome applications from candidates who
have completed a PhD or equivalent doctoral research degree and who wish to
combine post-doctoral research training linked to specialty training in oral
surgery OR who have a PhD and CCST in orthodontics who wish to combine
post-doctoral academic training with post-CCT training in orthodontics.
The
clinical training programme will follow the curriculum recommended by the SAC
in Oral Surgery OR post-CCT orthodontics and is designed to fulfil the
requirements of the General Dental Council leading to a certificate of
completion of specialist training. The post will give a wide experience of
services within an NHS organisation which will be integral to the appropriate
Managed Clinical Network. The expected outcome of the clinical training
programme is the preparation for a successful outcome in the specialty
membership examination (for Oral Surgery) and the award of a CCST in Oral
Surgery or completion of post-CCST training in orthodontics and eligibility to
apply for an NHS consultant post.
