Job summary
The role holder will have responsibility for the day-to-day operational management and delivery ofthe dental technical production service within the University of Bristol Dental School, ensuring thesmooth running of the dental production laboratory so that it is fit for purpose and compliant withrelevant Health & Safety regulations.
The post holder will be able to carry out the construction of an extensive range of fixed andremovable dental oro-facial and intra oral custom-made appliances for patients under treatmentby dental undergraduate and/or postgraduate students.
To help and assist in any way, undergraduate and postgraduate clinical dental students to improveand understand laboratory techniques or techniques involved during fitting when providing oralappliances, dentures, crowns and bridges for their patients. This will include assisting/supportingthe provision of teaching in the teaching laboratories, within the production laboratories or onoccasion, in the clinical setting.
To consult and advise students and supervisors on technical issues during patient visits, and toadjust and re-finish any restoration prior to fitting to the patient, where necessary, usingestablished dental technology techniques.
