Job summary

The Pears Cumbria School of Medicine (PCSM) is a unique partnership between Imperial College London and the University of Cumbria to establish a new medical school in Carlisle. The School will offer a four-year graduate entry programme, with the first cohort of 58 students entering in August 2025.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with the CSPP module and subject leads, you will support the development and delivery of interactive learning events that cover the CSPP learning outcomes including: professionalism, clinical skills, communication skills, medical ethics and law, clinical reasoning, quality improvement and patient safety, teamwork and leadership. The learning events will utilise a range of delivery modalities, including large group teaching sessions, tutorial teaching, clinical skills teaching, simulation, and self-directed online learning materials.

We seek to appoint a Clinical Skills and Professional Practice to the academic team based in Carlisle, who shares our passion and commitment to designing an innovative education experience for graduate-entry medical students within an environment that promotes multi-professional learning. What you would be doing Working closely with the CSPP module and subject leads, you will support the development and delivery of interactive learning events that cover the CSPP learning outcomes including: professionalism, clinical skills, communication skills, medical ethics and law, clinical reasoning, quality improvement and patient safety, teamwork and leadership.   • A medical degree with full GMC registration, and completion of the foundation programme.
  • Recent experience working as a doctor in the NHS.
  • Interest and experience in medical education and successful delivery of teaching.
  • Command of the core topics in clinical skills, professionalism, and communication skills.
