We are seeking a highly-motivated and experienced individual to join us as the Prevention and Healthcare Delivery Lead at Cumbria School of Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity for Public Health consultants or clinicians with an interest in population health who are looking to broaden their experience in medical education.

Main duties of the job

This is a senior academic role within the school with influence and responsibility for shaping the curriculum and our approach to teaching and learning. You will: Manage and lead the development and delivery of the PHD curriculum, learning and assessment materials for years 1 and 2. Develop strategic links with the local Public Health, health and social care teams in Cumbria. Work closely with academic colleagues across the programme to develop an integrated curriculum student journey, with a focus on years 1 and 2.

About us

The Pears Cumbria School of Medicine is an entirely new venture between Imperial College London and the University of Cumbria with the specific purpose of helping to address health inequality in the UK. The school will be based at the Carlisle campus and is expected to open in 2025. Our vision is to be collaborative and inclusive, innovative and research-informed. We aim to produce skilled clinicians who are adaptable and focused on the delivery of safe and sustainable, high-quality and person-centred care to improve health outcomes for the people of Cumbria. As PCSM Lead for Prevention and Healthcare Delivery, you will be part of the academic leadership team and provide recognised expertise and strategic leadership on the content, delivery format and assessment strategy for these modules. This is an exciting opportunity for Public Health consultants or clinicians with an interest in population health who are looking to broaden their experience in medical education through engagement with this innovative and transformational project. You will be based at the Fusehill Street campus in Carlisle and will work closely with academics and in London and Cumbria. You experience of applying knowledge acquired from scholarship to teaching, curriculum and/or assessment will have specialist knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
