Job summary We are looking for a committed and motivated Research Nurse or Clinical Research Practitioner to join the Imperial College Addiction research team to undertake cutting edge clinical research in opioid addiction. You will work with the team to deliver the FORWARDS-2 trial (Facilitating Opiate Recovery: Withdrawal and Abstinence through Detoxification Support-2). FORWARDS-2 is a multi-centre, randomised, controlled trial evaluating whether baclofen can facilitate detoxification or dose reduction from methadone. It is a highly innovative trial aimed to address an immense unmet need in the management of opiate dependence. It will take place in both NHS and non-NHS (third sector) community drug and alcohol services in London and the North West of England. Duties and responsibilities The post-holder will be primarily responsible for participant-facing activities and data capture at the local addiction services, and will involve the planning, co-ordinating and conduct of trial-related procedures in line with the research protocol, according to Good Clinical Practice. The post-holder will be the first local point-of contact for trial-related queries from clients, participants, and local site staff. This is therefore a key post that will help ensure that the study is delivered to the highest standards. To achieve this, the pro-active post holder will work closely to build effective relationships with the local Principal Investigators and their addiction service teams. All aspects of the role will be undertaken in collaboration with, and with support from, the trial management team and wider research group based at Imperial College London. You will be an experienced, registered nurse (significant experience in a relevant area), or Clinical Research Practitioner with equivalent training. You will have an interest, or experience in addiction, and with previous research experience, ideally with CTIMPs. Essential requirements
