Background
An excellent opportunity to join our friendly team has opened up for an enthusiastic part-time Senior Lecturer (Chartered Forensic Psychologist). We are looking for an individual who is a BPS Chartered Forensic Psychologist with relevant and current experience to contribute to and take a lead on our successful BPS accredited MSc Forensic and Investigative Psychology course. The post holder would also contribute to our Undergraduate and other postgraduate teaching and supervision and engage in sustained scholarly and research activity as appropriate. Applicants do not require a PhD for this post, but should have relevant forensic psychology experience, and some experience of teaching in the University sector would be advantageous. The role is part-time and any successful applicant will be expected to be available for on campus activities on Thursdays, particularly during term time and for recruitment events.
The Person
Applicants should be a BPS chartered Forensic Psychologist, preferably having experience of teaching in the University sector, and be willing to engage in scholarly and research activity alongside teaching and supervision duties (including writing for academic publication).

The Role
The successful candidate will support our current course director of the BPS accredited MSc Forensic and Investigative Psychology course (Stage 1) in addition to contribute to teaching across both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, by delivering taught modules, as well as supervising undergraduate and postgraduate student projects. The appointee will be expected to contribute to on-going curriculum development, as well as assume additional administrative roles, as appropriate.

The new psychology research spaces in the Verena Holmes building include:
Five psychology observation labs / interview rooms with new state-of-the-art integratedaudio-visual recording technology
Additional dedicated lab spaces for use in psychology research. These include areas forcomputer-based cognitive experiments, eye-tracking, a functional near infra-red system(fNIRS) research, EEG, virtual reality, driving simulation, and survey completion)
A large central control room with one-way mirrors to support both the psychologyobservation labs and dedicated psychology research labs
A wide assortment of software to compliment both the observation, experiment-based, andsurvey-based research

1. Lead, maintain and develop the BPS accredited MSc Forensic and Investigative
Psychology programme as agreed with the current course director and psychology
leads.
2. Input to specific undergraduate/postgraduate courses, the allocation of which is the
responsibility of the Section Director in negotiation with Course Directors
3. Attend regular meetings of the course team, research/knowledge exchange thematic
groups, School, and Faculty, in accordance with published timetables, and meetings of
the Staff-Student Liaison Committee for courses on which the post holder teaches, as
required
4. Enact responsibility for the administration, assessment and evaluation of the courses
above in such a way as to meet school guidelines, good practice and published
deadlines
5. Participate in a schedule of Open Days for prospective applicants as designated by
the Subject Director and/or relevant Course Director.
6. Develop and/or maintain a strong contribution to the activities of the course(s) and
school in terms of research, publications and knowledge exchange activities
7. Given suitable notice, transact reasonable roles and responsibilities not highlighted
above which are so designated from time to time by the Subject Director and/or
Course Director(s), and which contribute to the smooth running of the Psychology
Suite and/or School.
8. Participate in both a University-wide and a school induction course and, in pro-active
and reactive ways, attend events connected with further professional development
