Main duties of the job
We Listen
Kent and Medway is recruiting for a number of full time (37.5 hours) Trainee
Cognitive Behaviour Therapists on both fixed term, and permanent contracts
(that would be dependent on successfully completing the Post Graduate Diploma
course with Canterbury Christ Church University).
You will work 3 days per week
within your employing organisation, this location will depend on which
organisation you are offered a role within. The training course will take place
two days a week at Canterbury Christ Church
University, Tunbridge Wells campus at the Salomons Institute for Applied
Psychology.
Main duties

You would be employed within one of the 7 above
IAPT services to provide therapy for clients experiencing common mental health
problems, such as depression and anxiety disorders. This may include video
consultation and face-to-face clinical work.
In addition to providing therapy to clients,
you will be expected to collect data through questionnaires, note keeping,
using case management systems and attending team meetings.

- (a) A professional qualification recognised as a 'Core Profession' by BABCP such as Mental Health Nursing, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or an accredited Counselling qualification. A full list of recognised Core Professions is available https://www.babcp.com/core-professions.
- OR
- (b) Demonstrate, through the BABCPs 'Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes (KSA)' application, that they have the required core training and competence for the delivery of a psychological therapy within an ethical framework.
- WITH
- (c) A good honours degree in any subject OR Provide evidence of ability to study successfully at Postgraduate level.
