Job summary

Here at Sheffield Hallam University we are recruiting for a Lecturer in Social Work with specialist adult social work expertise to teach across undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD programmes.

Main duties of the job

As a Lecturer in Social Work within our lively and committed team, youll contribute to the teaching, learning and assessment of students on our undergraduate, foundation level, postgraduate and post-qualifying programmes and will have a broad remit across the subject areas such as: mental health, adult safeguarding, learning disabilities and multi-agency working.

Your role will include teaching preparation and delivery of social work education and research, and will involve leading modules, contributing to dissertation supervision and research and knowledge exchange. You'll also contribute to the development of new and exciting programmes and help to shape the curriculum through your professional experience and your critical, practical and theoretical understanding of social work and social care particularly focussing on adult social work / social care.

Qualified to degree level or equivalent, you will be registered with Social Work England (SWE) and have substantial post-qualifying social work experience. This is an excellent opportunity to further your career in a higher education setting and would be suitable for those wishing to move into higher education.
