Job summary

We are looking for an inspirational individual with clinical experience who can inspire, enthuse, and connect with our students. You will teach on both the undergraduate and post graduate programmes including inter professional education across the college. You will take an active role in all areas of student learning, teaching and assessment; this will also include the quality and administration duties associated with an excellent student experience. You will also be involved in the whole student pathway including admissions, academic advising, clinical placement, and pastoral support.

Main duties of the job

You must have well developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical, and theoretical issues relevant to radiotherapy and oncology practice and experience of clinical practice. A good honours degree (i.e., UK 2.1 or 1st Class), or equivalent professional qualification and experience in therapeutic radiography is essential as is registration with a recognised regulatory body.

About us

The Radiotherapy and Oncology team consists of 12 staff that are responsible for the delivery of the curriculum at undergraduate level leading to qualification and eligibility for registration with the HCPC via the: BSc (Hons) Radiotherapy and Oncology programme Pre-registration MSc Radiotherapy and Oncology in Practice programme and BSc (Hons)Therapeutic Radiography (Degree Apprenticeship) programme We have an extensive knowledge and experience in the development and delivery of distance learning with a portfolio of three distance learning post graduate programmes. Our team has a range of expertise in all areas of radiotherapy, oncology, and supportive & palliative care, with many of the team active researchers. The team sits within the Department of Allied Health Professions in the College of Health, Wellbeing and Lifesciences and are primarily based within the Robert Winston Building which provides excellent facilities and houses our specialist planning and simulation suite and VERT (virtual immersion facility). Some lecturers in the team also provide dedicated clinical support for students placed at nine regional cancer centres.
