Job summary

As a Lecturer in one of the largest providers of nurse education in the UK, you will be working with a large, vibrant community of academics, practitioners and researchers with a commitment to providing high quality, research-informed teaching, to ensure active learning.

You will join a team of academic practitioners, innovating, teaching and supporting student nurses across the undergraduate and postgraduate curricula. You will also support a range of post-registration teaching to registrants accessing our CPD portfolio, alongside opportunities to be involved in research and project work.

Main duties of the job

You will need:

The ability to design and deliver transformative and innovative learning experiences.

Knowledge and understanding of critical, practical, and theoretical issues relevant to children's nursing and the health and social care agenda.

Experience of teaching, training or supervising undergraduate and postgraduate nursing or other healthcare professionals in a practice or academic environment.

Current NMC registration as a Childrens Nurse and evidence of ongoing professional development.

Job Title Lecturer in Nursing - Child College College of Health, Wellbeing and Life Sciences Grade 7 Reports to Principal Lecturer Direct reports N/A Role purpose To teach and support students by taking a learner-centred approach in line with the Universitys learning, teaching and assessment strategy. To contribute to curriculum development and delivery, research and other forms of scholarly activity as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Main duties The post holder performs a range of duties and responsibilities from those listed below. The balance of these will vary between post holders. Student experience Designs and delivers innovative, high quality and challenging learning experiences. Equips students with the skills, knowledge and attributes required by employers through delivery of the curriculum. Contributes to the development of a sense of student community and acts as key contact for students. Assists with the operational delivery of courses / modules and acts proactively to address any emerging issues, escalating as appropriate. Actively participates in student induction (where appropriate), including preparation of key information for students. Plays an active role in the pastoral care and supervision of students.
